On Monday, Leicester Crown Court learned call records and data recovered from phones documented Ms Wandelt persistently demanding Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout the past two years.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - when she was three years old during a trip in Portugal - is one of the most covered child disappearance cases and continues to be unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

A separate voicemail, presented in court, documented Ms Wandelt stating: "I realize I'm heavy and not pretty like Madeleine was, but I believe what I believe."

While a separate message of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's answerphone expressed: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? Then what? Is that not significant for you?"

"I do not need money, I have a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.

The tribunal was informed that through electronic messages, mobile messages and communications, Ms Wandelt demanded a DNA test, transmitted early photographs to her phone in a attempt to show a resemblance to Mrs McCann's vanished daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a youth with the McCanns.

Robert Jones, a data specialist with Leicestershire Police who gathered the evidence, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, according to the phone records.

On 9 October 2024, the father answered a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "incorrect contact information."

On that occasion Ms Wandelt left a voicemail on Mrs McCann's answerphone declaring "I won't give up and I plan to establish my point."

The court was informed the co-defendant developed a connection online with Ms Wandelt prior to assisting her on a trip to the McCanns' residence in that area in last December.

Communication data showed Mrs Spragg had reached out through communication app to Mrs McCann to say the press had characterized Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she should be treated respectfully in the time leading up to the appearance to the village, that area, in that winter.

The court heard correspondence between the two individuals, in that autumn, planning trying to get Mrs McCann's DNA samples from her garbage or from cutlery at a restaurant.

"We need to take action," the co-defendant told Ms Wandelt.

On the evening of the visit to their house, the defendant dispatched a message which said: "We're currently sitting outside the McCanns' house with our vehicle dark resembling private investigators. I wanted to do this with another person I hadn't anticipated I would be involved in this with the McCanns."

The proceedings proceeds.
